Cross country
Cross country was the first sport I joined in high school, and I have continued to run with the team since my freshman year. Though it is more of an individual sport than most, the bond everyone in the team has formed is undeniable. Cross country has not only helped me improve as a runner, but as a person in all other aspects of my life. The dedication and persistence needed to compete has helped mold me into the person I am today.
Track and field
Track and Field is the spring counterpart to Cross Country, with shorter distances and more races to participate in. Throughout my high school track career I've competed in the 400m, 800m, 1600m, and made it out of our league to the Sierra Sequoia Championships in the 3200m. Like cross country, the experience I've had with the track team has not only helped me improve as a runner, but as a person.
Honors guitar
Since freshman year I've been a part of the Honors Guitar Ensemble. An octet of the best guitar players at LHS, we travel around the valley to perform and compete. Some of my highlight experiences with the ensemble include performing on NPR Radio and competing at CMEA and Guitar Summit. At guitar summit we placed first as an ensemble and I placed third as a soloist. Ms. Wills and the guitar program here at LHS have truly helped me improve tremendously as a musician.
